Regular visitors to Mallorca love coming in September as the weather is usually very good ( especially the first two weeks ) but it is not quite as hot as July and August which for some people is a little too hot to enjoy.
Like May the prices are good and the choice of accommodation available is much wider so you can really shop around especially if you are in a bigger group.
Whenever I have family wanting to come to the Island I always suggest the first half of the month as the weather normally is that bit better and places like water parks are more likely to be open. To be honest apart from the water parks which heavily depends on the weather at the latter part of the month, every other attraction is still in full swing all month. The beaches are perfect with a comfortable amount of people but not busy and the sea is nice and warm after the heat of both July and August. It is also a great time to eat out on the many restaurant terraces in a cooler evening temperature which is a real bonus as there are many stunning venues to enjoy.
Lots of people who visit Mallorca enjoy a night out at the Pirates Adventure show and the good news is that their prices reduce in September so a better deal for all and especially the families.
Car rental has normally also become a little cheaper as it is not high season, so it is a good idea to get out and about discovering all sides of the Island. September is also a great time to join one of the many organised tours available as again the temperatures are a bit lower so walking about is more comfortable but all of the coach companies use modern buses and they are all well air conditioned so whatever the temperature outside you will be nice and cool whilst enjoying the scenery.
One event that is very special in September is the 2-week fiesta in Santa Ponsa of King Jaime the first that normally starts around the 1st of the month. It is a great celebration with many things happening over the 2 weeks including activities during the daytime for kids and a kids disco one evening. There is a medieval market for some of the time and the last few days are when the action really starts with a re-enactment of the medieval battle on the beach and the finale on the last night is a spectacular firework display.
